Red velvet heart smoothie

 

Ingredients:


1/2 cup blueberries or blackberries (or raspberries/strawberries) - can be either fresh or frozen

1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup kale (or cavolo nero, spinach, chard)
1 shredded fresh beetroot 
1 orange
1 lemon juice

handful of fresh basil leaves
1 tbsp previously soaked flax seeds 
1 tbsp previously soaked chia seeds
1 tbsp wheatgrass powder

Optional
1 cm ginger root
1 cm lemongrass 
several coriander seeds
1/2 cup ice

pinch of salt

Blend until smooth, decorate with pomegranate or berries and/or some chopped green leaves (basil, mint, spinach) 

Comment: you may wish to swap flaxseeds with sunflower/sesame seed in luteal/second phase of menstrual cycle

Sprinkle with cinnamon (sugar balancing)
